Call for RoboSoft 2027 Art Gallery is out now!

robosoft art gallery

Calling all artists, researchers, designers, makers, and curious minds!

Ready to let your robots out into the wild?

The RoboSoft Art Gallery is back for 2027 with a new exhibition theme: The Soft Trouble of Wilderness.

What happens when soft robots leave the laboratory and enter the wild?

Inspired by William Cronon’s critique of wilderness, Donna Haraway’s concept of natureculture, and Robert Smithson’s reflections on art, ecology, and industry, this year’s Gallery invites us to rethink the boundaries between nature and technology, organism and machine, the living and the nonliving, autonomy and interdependence.

We are looking for creative, experimental, speculative, and critical works, including soft robotic sculptures, kinetic artworks, interactive and haptic installations, wearable, bio-inspired and biohybrid systems, robots interacting with natural or human-shaped environments, photography and image-based artworks, short experimental videos, and anything else that challenges how we think about softness, robotics, and the wild.

The call is open to everyone, whether or not you have submitted a paper to RoboSoft 2027.

We accept three-dimensional artworks, photographic or image-based works, and short video artworks.

Submission deadline: January 15, 2027

Bring us your version of the wild, and show us what happens when softness leaves the laboratory and encounters it.
